Library Cards
Library cards are free to anyone living, working or studying in Hamilton. Your library card can be used at the 24 branches of the Hamilton Public Library system. Your library card is now required to use some on-line information resources. You will be asked for your card number when using these services.
Loan Period/Limitations
The Hamilton Public Library has a policy regarding loan periods, extended loans and limitations on borrowing.
Interlibrary Loan Request Form
If HPL does not own a copy of what a customer needs, the customer can request that we borrow the item from another library in Ontario or Canada.
Library Fines
Your library card will enable you to borrow materials from the 1.2 million books, DVDs, Music CDs and other formats owned by the Hamilton Public Library. However, you do need to get these back on time.
