Severin, April
Biography
April A. Severin is the author of seven chapbooks. Her other credits include work in Gatherings, Sky Woman, Street, and Tower Poetry. She has tracks on two CD's Keepers of the Sacred Fire and Hammered Out Live. April has participated in numerous events including Hamilton’s Lit Live, Toronto’s Art Bar, and Eden Mills Writers’ Festival. She has also presented her work to schools including Glendale Secondary, Mohawk College, and University of Toronto. CFMU, CIUT, and Aboriginal Voices Radio have aired April’s poetry during interviews. She has volunteered as Power of the Pen judge for the Hamilton Public Library and is an associate member of the League of Canadian Poets. A poem by April published in Healing Journey by Na Me Res was selected for inclusion on a Community Interpretive Project plaque at the intersection of Vaughan Road and St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto.
