Pottinger, Willard K.
Biography
Born in Hamilton (1930), attended Hamilton Technical Institute, McMaster and Ontario College of Education. Taught English and French in Fenwick ON., Hill Park High School, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Zhenjiang China. Studied for ministry at Knox College, U of T and served in Val d’Or , PQ, Montreal, Ottawa and St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on James St., Hamilton. Alternating between teaching and ministry several times preserved sanity. Married Enid (nee Miller) and have two grown children. My moving back and forth from teaching to ministry encouraged me to write about making choices: marriage, career, travelling – choices that confront us all. Hence a novel about such binary decisions. Recreations in younger days included cross-country skiing, swimming, camping with the family; and now, curling and bicycling around Hamilton Bay twice weekly.
