Porter, J. S.
Biography
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, J.S. Porter is the author of three books: The Thomas Merton Poems (Moonstone), Spirit Book Word: An Inquiry into Literature and Spirituality (Novalis) and Thomas Merton: Hermit at the Heart of Things (Novalis). He has contributed articles and reviews to The Hamilton Spectator, The Ottawa Citizen, The National Post, The Globe and Mail and the Literary Review of Canada. He has also written for numerous journals and magazines, including Kairos, Hammered Out, Brick,The Antigonish Review, Canadian Literature, Quarry, The New Quarterly, Kentucky Poetry Review, In Retro, Poetry Ireland Review, The Nashwaak Review and Windsor Review. He also writes for Hamilton Arts & Letters (HAL), an online arts journal.
He lives in Hamilton with his wife Cheryl and his dog Marley.
