Where Am I?...

Kosydar, Richard

Kosydar, Richard
Hamilton-area author Richard Kosydar

Biography

A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Richard Kosydar turned to landscape photography and the creation of colour photographic books after 20 years of designing, building and renovating houses in his and wife Eleanore’s home construction business.

Richard co-authored and co-published Natural Landscapes of the Dundas Valley with Eleanore in 1989 under their Tierceron imprint. He followed this with two of his own books in 1996 and 1999:  Natural Landscapes of the Niagara Escarpment and Hamilton: Images of a City. All three titles are now out of print.

In 2007 the couple co-authored their second book about the Dundas Valley, from a slightly different perspective; 150 new photographs are featured in The Dundas Valley: Visions of Beauty.

Richard has recently begun to explore flower photography, as well as the creation of abstract landscapes with the help of a computer. He brings the same enthusiastic interest to these endeavours that he brings to landscape photography. He lives with Eleanore in an outlying suburb of Hamilton, in a rebuilt home of their own design overlooking the Dundas Valley.
