Harold Melvin Griffith's fifty-three year career in metallurgy began in the United States. Canada was fortunate to claim him when he came to Stelco in 1936. A moving force in the industry, he has twice received prestigious honours from American Steel institutes. As Stelco's Chairman of the Board, he guided the $829 million Nanticoke development until his retirement in 1979.

Harold Melvin Griffith's fifty-three year career in metallurgy began in the United States. Canada was fortunate to claim him when he came to Stelco in 1936. A moving force in the industry, he has twice received prestigious honours from American Steel institutes. As Stelco's Chairman of the Board, he guided the $829 million Nanticoke development until his retirement in 1979.

Throughout his career, he has maintained an active interest in the Canadian community, contributing time to many voluntary boards, as well as industrial concerns.
