Eddenden, A. E.
Biography
Arthur Eddenden was born in Hamilton, Ontario and has lived in Burlington, Ontario with his wife since the mid-1950's. For the past thirty years he has been working as an artist and graphic designer, first as Art Director for a Toronto advertising agency and now as a freelancer. His first book, A Good Year for Murder (1988) introduced Inspector Tretheway, a physically towering figure inspired by a well-known Hamilton cop of the 30's and 40's, Fred Eddenden, his father. The local of this series is Fort York, which happens to be Hamilton and local colour abounds in the descriptions of settings. His mysteries have been reviewed by several magazines and newspapers including the NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW, and THE HAMILTON SPECTATOR has published a profile of him in their "Works in Progress" series by John Levesque(Aug 9 '97). He has participated in various local literary events with a mystery theme. His books are published by Academy Chicago Publishers, 363 West Erie Street, Chicago, Illinois and are available through bookstores.
