Dougher, Helen Fitzgerald
Biography
Poet Helen Fitzerald Dougher was born in Dunnville, Ontario on November 14, 1911 and worked in the Department of Veterans of the Federal Civil Service in Hamilton until retirement after thirty years. Her poetry has been published in Chatelaine, Saturday Night, Cheshire Life and other Canadian, British, and American periodicals, anthologized in eight collections, and featured on radio. She is the author of two previous poetry books, This Golden Fire (The Tower Poetry Press, 1977) and Homecoming (Potlatch Publications, 1986). She was a longstanding member of several poetry societies until her death in 2006.
