Cope, Gordon
Biography
Gordon Cope was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1955. He attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with a BSc in Geology in 1978 and moved to Calgary that same year. After working in the oilpatch for several years, he began a career as a writer, joining the Calgary Herald in 1987 and serving as a feature writer and business reporter until 1993. He and his wife Linda then quit their jobs, sold their house and ran away to the South Pacific for a year.
Returning to Calgary, they formed their own company and spent the next decade traveling around the world, living in London, Paris and Henley-on-Thames. They recently returned to Calgary. Cope is currently working on his next book, Chasing the Cork.
