Biography
Body Content: Enter body content for this page here Hugh Cook was born in the Hague and immigrated to Canada in 1950. He earned an M.A. in Canadian Literature from Simon Fraser University and an M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. He now lives in Hamilton, Ontario where he is emeritus professor of English at Redeemer University College. He gives frequent workshops and readings from his work.

Co-winner, First Prize, Faith Today Magazine's Book Awards - Fiction for Home in Alfalfa, 1998.
Hamilton & Region Arts Council's City of Hamilton Book Award for Fiction for Home in Alfalfa, 1998.
Named winner of the Leslie K. Tarr Award by The Word Guild, 1997 Ontario Arts Council grants, 1988 and 2006.
