The Hamilton Youth Arts Network (HYAN) strives to build on Hamilton’s identified strengths, while working to fill gaps that exist around youth involvement in the arts. We make every effort to increase the number of leadership opportunities for youth in the arts, while improving the general accessibility and quality of art programs. We work towards delivering action-based outcomes beyond dialogue and through youth-led project activities and decision-making. The network is fully inclusive and project work is directed by youth with the support of caring adults. We seek to involve youth aged 13-18 for direct participation and youth aged 19-25 for mentorship roles
