Green Venture's Community Garden
In 2003, Green Venture partnered with the Hamilton Naturalists' Club, and the Hamilton Community Foundation to build a Community Garden. The garden is over 4,500 square feet and is maintained without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers by members of the community.
Green Venture is always looking for community members to take part in the planting, maintenance, and harvesting of the community garden. There are no fees for a plot of garden space like other similar community garden programs. This is a communal garden and everyone shares all of the space and participants only have to donate enough funds for seeds and plants for the season.
Volunteers will be able to learn about organic gardening techniques and take home fresh vegetables, fruits, fresh flowers and herbs
