About the Library:
Special Gift Fund
In 1980, The Hamilton Public Library established a Special Gift Fund upon the occasion of the opening of the Hamilton Central Library. Donations to this fund have been made by many organizations and individuals since that time.
Only 80% of the annual interest is spent according to the terms of the fund, leaving the donation intact to continue to work for the public library forever.
The annual Interest income is used to:
- provide special building improvements and furnishings
- support new or enhanced services,
- develop new technology
- add new collections
