Hamilton is home to people from all over the world. Hamilton Public Library has much to offer our city's multiracial, multicultural citizens, including:
- Multilingual Collection: Books, videos and newspapers in many different languages. We offer electronic access to a large selection of international newspapers.
- ESL. Find books and services to learn English. Visit the Learning Centre, located on the 4th floor of Central Library.
- LINC Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada. A tutor based program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. This is located in the Learning Centre.
- Services, programs and resources for newcomers. Find information on getting settled, learning English, locating employment and becoming a Canadian citizen.
- For newcomer families. HPL is family-friendly! We offer a large selection of reading and family entertainment possibilities, from dual-language storybooks to multicultural story time programs.
