If you love working with children and are hoping to earn some volunteer hours over the summer, the Reading Buddies program is for you!

During the summer months, volunteers are needed to assist with the Reading Buddies program at many branches of the Hamilton Public Library. Teens are paired with younger children who have difficulty reading.

What is the Reading Buddies program all about?

• Teens and children are buddied up in pairs to read together .
• Reading Buddies is a  fun reading program for children who are having difficulty reading.

What qualifications do I need to be a Reading Buddy?

Reliable 

Will I be trained as a Reading Buddy?

• A basic orientation is provided by the library before you start the program
• ongoing training may be provided at each Reading Buddies session.
