Beaux Mondes

People, places and things to love about Hamilton.

ditch

-- a Canadian online poetry magazine celebrating the non-conforming, the radical, the alternative, the surreal, the avant-garde, the non-linear, the abstract, the experimental.

H Magazine is devoted to the details of life in our city. The cultural, historical, visual and architectural elements of Hamilton are what makes this place so unique. H Mag provides a local perspective to the wider community. Listings, reviews, and poetry.

Hamilton Arts & Letters: kinetic, hieroglyphic, sounded, seen, stretched, heard, inked, imagined and realized will all be found in the sympathetic environment that is Hamilton Arts & Letters. HA&L is a cultural laboratory. Here you will find essays and articles about the ethos of a place.

Hammered Out -- an aptly named magazine, published by Peter Street Publishing. Sadly now on hiatus, known for publishing short fiction and poetry by local authors. Go to their website now for news from the Hamilton Poetry Centre.

HistoriCITY, the quarterly newsletter of the Hamilton Historical Board, welcomes inquiries, paid advertising, and the submission of short articles and events of local history and heritage interest.

mayday MAGAZINE comes out of the Sky Dragon Centre and is filled with socially engaged writing. Sky Dragon Centre is where Lit Live get togethers take place.

Potlatch Publications Limited was launched in 1972 with a singular goal: to establish a list of high-quality titles which are attractively produced, appealing to a wide audience - especially readers who love humour!

Wolsak & Wynn is a literary press located right in the heart of Hamilton. Since the company began operations in 1983, they have published 122 titles, including six nominees for, and two winners of, the Governor General’s Award for poetry.

Outside the city we find:

North Shore Publishing in Burlington. They have published many popular books of Hamilton history. Canadian Heritage Books is their online store.

Seraphim Editions in Woodstock has ties to the city and produced the Literary Faces of Hamilton poster, which can be viewed on their website.
