Library Collections

eBooks: These may be downloaded from the Library's website, and are the format that will best meet the needs of a variety of customers with differing disabilities. The font size of the text can be adjusted as required based on customers' needs.

eAudio Books: These may also be downloaded from the Library's website.

Large Print: Over 10,000 large print titles are available from the Hamilton Public Library. These books are located throughout the system and can be reserved and sent to any convenient branch.

Talking Books: Full-text talking books are provided by agreement with the CNIB. Daisy, the newest format, was introduced in 2007. Daisy readers are available for a one month loan.

Books on CD: These recorded books are available for use by visually impaired persons.

DVD collections: Many DVDs feature closed captioning and can be found in the catalogue by searching for video recordings for the hearing impaired. Audio described DVDs are found by searching for video recordings for people with visual disabilities.

Braille Books: The library has an introductory collection of Braille books for children at the Central library.
