Electronic Services
The Electronic Services Department is located at the Central Library and provides technical support for library staff and public computing. Electronic Services employees collaborate on the planning, scheduling, purchasing and installation of applications and technology. In addition, Electronic Services staff resolve technical problems and ensure network/system functionality; as well as preparing training and support materials to assist the staff and public.
Requirements
Some of the requirements to work in Electronic Services are:
- Experience in user support, including practical experience working with applications technology, preferably in a library environment.
- Experience developing and delivering staff computer or application training.
- Understanding of Computer Science, web applications and technologies normally acquired by attaining a University Degree in Computer Science or College Diploma in Computer Technology or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Knowledge of current microcomputer operating systems and desktop applications.
- Flexibility and good humour in a working environment characterized by change.
- Ability to work independently and apply new technologies with minimal guidance and support.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and function under pressure.
