Arts Awards Medallion
Established Artist award recipients will receive a medallion created by Dora de Pédery-Hunt (1913-2008). Cast in bronze, the City of Hamilton Arts Award medallion has been presented to winners since the awards began in 1976.
As Canada’s foremost medallic artist, Ms. de Pédery-Hunt designed and moulded hundreds of art medals, beginning with the Canada Council Medal in 1961 and she is best known for creating the image of the Queen found on all Canadian currency issued between 1990 and 2003.
