Places for Writers

Canadian Poetry Collection at McMaster University is probably one of the largest and most comprehensive of its kind, and consists of English-language works published up to the year 2000 written by native poets and by poets resident in Canada. The collection numbers about 7,000 items and includes rarities such as E.J. Pratt's Rachel (1917), Al Purdy's Enchanted Echo (1944), Raymond Souster's A Dream That Is Dying (1961), and Margaret Atwood's Double Persephone (1961). Also included are holdings of "little magazines" and poetry journals.
